Ava Beyers ’25 is a double major in environmental science and geoscience, with a minor in biology. Her career goal is to complete graduate school and conduct research for a government agency. To prepare herself for this, she has gotten a position at Carthage as an environmental science lab assistant, in which she helps students with their work.
Ava is also performing research with Professor Matthew Zorn through the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program. She is researching ice phenology and performing satellite-based evaluations of seasonal ice cover changes. “With the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience, I am strengthening my satellite imagery analysis and geographical information service skills.”
